About the Role:
We are looking for a D365FO Solution Architect to join the team and lead in overseeing the deployment, configuration, customisation, and ongoing maintenance of capabilities within the D365FO ecosystem at Spark New Zaland. The D365FO Solution Architect will achieve this by utilising their significant understanding of Microsoft D365FO, particularly Finance, SCM, Project Operations and high level of downstream integration to multiple internal and external systems.
Working within our D365FO teams (both business & technical), you will be responsible for aligning the organisation’s processes, transformation, and requirements with the capabilities of the D365FO software; collaborating closely with stakeholders and project teams; and designing and implementing capabilities and architecture that meets the business's specific needs.
Day to day you will be involved in:
Business Understanding & Alignment
· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and map business processes into D365FO and other platforms.
· Assist business leaders in articulating core D365FO capabilities and maturity levels.
· Serve as a trusted advisor on D365FO capabilities, promoting efficient use and identifying transformation opportunities.
· Evaluate and contribute to the business processes and functional requirements to drive value and improvement.
Technical Leadership
· Lead as a subject matter expert on the D365FO architecture and capabilities.
· Conduct proof of concept (PoC) activities to demonstrate innovative ideas and deliver confidence in their impact/value.
· Stay updated on D365FO and Microsoft ecosystem tools, especially D365 and Power Platform. Understand new software releases, updates, use cases and share valuable insight with stakeholders, peers and teammates.
· Collaborate with service provider, Microsoft, technology partners, and other key suppliers on product development. Seek early piloting opportunities to demonstrate additional value to the organization.
· Help leading the technical modernisation and digital transformation efforts as needed.
Solution Design and Management
· Define and propose solution architectures that meet the business needs and optimise the business processes using D365FO and integrated tools.
· Collaborate with colleagues and architects to propose integrated solutions and ways of working across Enterprise Systems and Spark New Zealand as a whole.
· Lead the D365FO configuration capabilities to meet the organizational needs.
· Support functional teams in tool development and project implementation.
· Deliver user acceptance testing (UAT) and business-as-usual (BAU) support.
· Ensure timely delivery of solution administration tasks including security configuration, user access provisioning, configuration, scripting, coding, workflows, and reports.
· Troubleshoot and resolve significant issues, conduct root cause analysis and propose preventative actions and continuous improvement.
· Maintain and update the software configuration.
Quality Control & Risk Management
· Propose, document, and maintain best practices, championing their visibility and reuse.
· Define solution standards and ensure adherence.
· Lead activities to eliminate off-system process through communication and training.
· Support the development and, occasionally, the deployment of end-user training.
· Ensure alignment between the proposed solution architecture, solution standards, and business commitments.
· Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
· Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure the reliability and stability of the D365FO architecture.
· Prioritise security to protect critical & sensitive data, regulatory compliance, data integrity, and quality.
What experience you'll bring?
· Proven experience in a similar role.
· Demonstrated experience in D365FO.
· Proficiency in Financial & SCM processes.
· Experience with inbound and outbound integrations from D365FO.
· Hands on experience with D365FO code development (X++).
· Familiarity with Power Platform.
· A collaborative and curious approach to technical problem-solving.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
· Ability to work seamlessly with a wide range of groups and disciplines.
· Adaptability to rapidly evolving requirements.
