About the Role:
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional technical support and ensuring customer satisfaction? Do you excel at resolving intricate technical problems through effective troubleshooting? We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join us in providing excellent service. As a Systems Engineer, you'll assist with diverse IT environments, occasionally on-site, offering desktop and engineering support. Your close client interaction emphasises exceptional communication and top-tier service. Your adeptness and professionalism enhance your technical proficiencies.
WHAT YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
• Provide technical support to clients through effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues remotely and on-site, ensuring swift issue resolution.
• Onsite support across several clients (varying locations) – valid NZ driver’s license required.
• Building and supporting end-user devices (PCs, laptops, thin clients, printers, mobiles, tablets).
• Diagnosing faults / troubleshooting / problem solving.
• Network /Windows desktop and Server support.
• Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
• Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security
• Building productive working relationships across a variety of colleagues, clients, and suppliers. Continually innovating in your work environment.
• Document service activities and maintain accurate records of client interactions.
What experience you'll bring:
Work experience in equivalent field with IT services experience or training.
• Proven experience in technical support, maintenance, or a related role.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Enjoy a challenge and work well under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of networking (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, or equivalent)
• Network fault finding
• Proven experience with IP telephony platforms (Cisco Call Manager, MS Teams Voice, Cloud Phone, Avaya, or similar).
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with hand tools, ladders and networking equipment is required.
• Relevant IT Tertiary Qualifications and at least 5 years’ experience
• Advantageous - certifications on hardware repairs and Networking – A+, Networking+, CCNA/CCNP, ITIL, etc.
