Description & Requirements
Spark NZ
As New Zealand's largest telecommunications and digital services company, Spark's purpose is to help all of New Zealand win big in a digital world. We provide mobile, broadband, and digital services to millions of New Zealanders and thousands of New Zealand businesses.
We operate in an exciting and constantly evolving industry, where the pace of change brings new and unique challenges every day, so we operate using Agile ways of working to allow us to meet the fast-changing needs of our customers. Agile replaces the traditional hierarchical organisational structure to produce a transparent, collaborative environment with highly productive teams who are empowered to deliver better outcomes for our customers, communities, and all of New Zealand.
About the Role:
This is a great opportunity for an early-career marketer to join our B2B marketing chapter, working on legacy migrations. Our team helps Spark's business customers move from older technology, such as copper and 3G, onto newer platforms like fibre, 5G, and cloud.
You'll join a small, friendly team working on several projects at once. This is a hands-on role, so you'll get exposure to campaign delivery, content writing, and data, all while learning from more experienced marketers around you.
A big part of the role will focus on service plan changes. This means helping run campaigns that let business customers know when their plan is changing and supporting them through that change.
This role suits someone with a couple of years' marketing experience. You don't need to know everything already. We're looking for someone keen to learn, with a sharp eye for detail.
Day to day you will be involved in:
Campaign Support
· Supporting campaigns that tell customers about upcoming plan changes, helping them understand what's changing and what to do next. This is a key focus area for the role.
· Helping with other migration projects, including:
· Data Centre Simplification – letting customers know about changes to Spark's data centre services.
· Migrations – helping customers move from an old product or service to a new one.
· Exits and Shutdowns – supporting customers as they move off older Spark services that are being switched off.
· Helping coordinate everyday communications, such as TC Data customer updates, FENZ comms, the Chorus copper withdrawal, and the PSTN migration.
· Assisting with sending campaigns across different channels, such as email, text, and letters, with guidance from the wider team.
Content & Communications
· Helping write simple, clear customer communications that explain what's changing and why.
· Proofing and checking communications before they go out, so accuracy and attention to detail are key.
· Supporting the team with delivering webinars and case studies where needed.
Data & Collaboration
· Working with the analytics team to understand how campaigns are performing and sharing the results with key stakeholders.
· Interpret campaign results into clear next steps, with support from senior team members.
· Working closely with other teams and keeping track of multiple projects at once.
What experience you'll bring?
We're looking for a junior marketer who is organised, detail-focused, and keen to build their marketing career. You'll likely have:
- 2-3+ years' marketing experience, ideally with some exposure to B2B, retention, or lifecycle marketing.
- A marketing, communications or business degree.
- Strong attention to detail. This is essential for the role.
- Some experience with direct marketing would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with marketing tools such as Salesforce or Marketo is helpful but not essential. We're happy to help you build this.
- Clear writing skills, and the ability to adjust your tone for different audiences.
- Comfortable working with data, and a willingness to learn.
- A genuine interest in telecommunications and technology.
- A team player who's comfortable juggling a few projects at once.
