Description & Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Design Engineer to architect and implement enterprise-grade virtualised solutions for internal and external clients. This technical leadership role involves translating business requirements into scalable, resilient architectures by applying deep expertise in compute, storage, and data protection. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising high-performance infrastructure using VMware technologies, including vSphere, VCF, vSAN, and NSX.

Lead customer workshops to define technical requirements for compute, storage, and data protection.

Architect enterprise virtualisation solutions using the VMware stack (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).

Develop technical proposals, architecture documents, and implementation roadmaps.

Perform capacity planning, sizing, and performance modeling for virtual environments.

Design and implement scalable VMware vSphere compute clusters (DRS, HA, vMotion).

Deploy VMware NSX for network virtualisation and micro-segmentation.

Design enterprise backup and recovery strategies using tools like Veeam or Commvault.

Architect and implement disaster recovery (DR) plans using VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).

Implement high-availability and fault-tolerant architectures with automated failover.

VMware: 5+ years of hands-on expertise with the VMware stack (vSphere, vSAN, NSX); knowledge of other hypervisors (Hyper-V, KVM) is a plus.

Compute: Proficient with enterprise server hardware (Dell, HPE, Cisco UCS) and performance optimization.

Storage: Skilled in storage solutions (SAN, NAS, SDS) and protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS)

Data Protection: Experience with DR planning and enterprise backup tools (Veeam, Commvault).
