About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in telecommunications as a Trainee Network Rigger. Working alongside experienced Riggers and Technicians, you’ll gain hands-on experience building and maintaining the mobile and fibre networks that keep Aotearoa connected. This is a practical, outdoor role with full training provided and genuine career progression opportunities.
Day to day you will:

Assist with installing antennas, mounts, and associated equipment on towers and structures

Support the rigging and securing of cabling for mobile and wireless network infrastructure

Work safely at heights under the guidance of qualified Riggers

Help with site builds, upgrades, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment

Carry out basic testing and equipment checks as part of network installations

Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards

Travel to various sites around the South Island as part of a field-based team
What experience you'll bring:
You may be new to telecommunications, but you bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. You enjoy hands-on, practical work and thrive in a team environment. Being physically fit, comfortable working outdoors, and open to working at heights is important. A full driver’s licence is preferred, and any previous experience in construction, electrical, or trade environments would be an advantage but is not essential — full training will be provided.
