About the Role:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic entry‑level Civil Operator to join our Fibre Optic Civil Installations team. You don’t need prior industry experience — just the right attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to safety and quality. The role involves supporting daily field activities such as duct jointing, civil works, digging, site preparation, and any tasks assigned by the Team Lead to help achieve the team’s objectives
Day to day you will:
- Take full responsibility and ownership for the achievement of the team’s goals, mission, and strategic objectives
- Lead by example in delivering high‑quality work outputs, ensuring best‑practice methodologies, efficient processes, and continual improvement are embedded into team operations.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure alignment on project activities, scope, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Ensure all work activities are delivered to a consistently high standard, in alignment with organisational policies, industry best practice, and compliance requirements.
- Take personal accountability for ensuring that all work activities are completed in a safe manner, adhering to organisational Health & Safety (H&S) policies, procedures, and statutory obligations.
- Support effective planning, prioritisation, and execution of work to ensure optimal team performance and delivery against commitments.
What experience you'll bring:
- Strong work ethic with a positive, can‑do attitude and readiness to learn new skills.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to carry out hands‑on civil labour tasks such as digging, lifting, and working outdoors in various conditions.
- Basic understanding of hand tools and small machinery, or willingness to be trained in their safe use.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and complete assigned tasks to a high standard.
- Team player mindset, supporting the wider crew to meet daily goals and deliver quality work.
- Commitment to Health & Safety, including following procedures, identifying hazards, and working safely at all times.
- Adaptability and reliability, with the flexibility to take on a range of civil tasks as directed by the Team Lead.
- Attention to detail to ensure duct jointing, site preparation, and other civil activities are completed correctly and to specification.
- Good communication skills, with the confidence to ask questions, seek clarification, and work collaboratively with the team.
