About the role:
Join Our Team as a DC Shift Engineer: The Heartbeat of Our Data Centre
Are you ready to be the backbone of our data centre's operations? As a DC Shift Engineer, you'll be the go-to person ensuring everything runs like clockwork. You'll have the exciting responsibility of overseeing our engineering systems around the clock, making sure they're humming along efficiently and without a hitch.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operations Management: Ensuring all systems function efficiently and reliably.
- Emergency Response: Taking charge during critical system failures, including making safe and escalating issues.
- Maintenance: Monitoring, supervising, and leading maintenance activities during scheduled shifts, including the operation of critical infrastructure such as HVAC systems, power supplies, diesel, and fire systems.
- Troubleshooting: Leading the resolution of technical problems that may arise during the shift and monitoring any potential risk or disruption to services.
- Health and Safety: Drive positive safety-first culture in daily operations.
- Shift Coverage: Operate on a 24x7 shift roster covering on call
About You:
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in a critical environment, working with the operation of building cooling, electrical, mechanical, life safety systems, Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and Building Monitoring Systems (BMS)
- Electrical certification - a current NZ Registered Electrician
- Experienced in the operation of all Power and Building Service systems including proficiency in the operation of Building Management System
- Experience and proficiency with common desktop applications, particularly Excel
- Demonstrates Ability to effectively analyse, resolve & communicate technical issues in service angles with understanding of the complexities of operating mission critical Data Centres & Network Buildings
- Easily works with personnel at all levels, clients, internal stakeholders, Data Centre service line and supplier organizations to drive Service Level Agreement commitments
- Strives to create an excellent team climate with rewards & recognition to drive performance & standards to meet and exceed the operational requirements.
- Ability to provide 24x7 shift coverage
- Knowledge of Uptime Institute, TIA-942 Telecommunication Industry Association standard for Data Centres and/or ANSI/BICSI Standards
- Proven experience in supporting positive team culture
