Description & Requirements
As a Tech Lead – Integration, you will provide hands‑on technical leadership within Spark’s Integration Chapter, reporting to the Chapter Lead – Integration. You will lead the design, build, and delivery of high‑quality integration solutions while guiding engineers in squads to adopt modern, secure, and scalable integration practices.
You will act as the technical authority for API‑led and event‑driven integrations, ensuring solutions meet Spark’s engineering standards, non‑functional requirements, and platform direction. You will also champion AI‑assisted engineering practices to improve developer productivity, quality, and reliability.
- Technical Leadership & Solution Delivery

Lead the design and implementation of integration solutions using API‑led and event‑driven patterns.

Provide technical direction to engineers within squads, ensuring alignment to chapter standards and enterprise architecture.

Act as the design authority for integrations, reviewing designs, code, and NFRs (performance, security, resilience, observability).

Drive contract‑first development (OpenAPI/AsyncAPI), versioning, and reusability across integration assets.

Troubleshoot complex integration issues and lead root‑cause analysis for production incidents.
- Engineering Excellence & AI‑Enabled Practices

Embed AI‑assisted development practices such as code generation, intelligent testing, automated reviews, and quality checks.
- Partner Management: Lead offshore partners; define success metrics, capability uplift, and delivery quality.
- Collaboration & Mentoring

Mentor and coach engineers, supporting their technical growth and uplift in modern integration practices.

Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, Platform teams, and SRE/Operations.

Support the Chapter Lead by providing technical input into capability uplift, platform improvements, and delivery challenges.

Work effectively with onshore/offshore partner engineers, providing clear technical guidance and quality oversight.

Leading integration, middleware, or platform teams in large enterprise environments.

Integration Patterns: API-led (REST/OpenAPI), event-driven (Kafka/pub-sub), ESB/legacy modernisation.

Integration Frameworks: Apache Camel for routing, mediation, and integration patterns.

Microservices: Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, contract-first development.

Cloud & Containers: Microsoft Azure, OpenShift (OCP), AKS, CI/CD pipelines.

Security & Observability: OAuth2, mTLS, secrets management, logging, tracing

Managing onshore/offshore partners at scale.

Influencing across internal teams and partner boundaries.
